This cookbook is sometimes referred to as "Book Three" or the "Yellow Cookbook". Over the many printings the cover was changed slightly. The title has remained "Eating Out at Home Cookbook" with the masthead originally reading "Secret Recipe Report" but, in later printings it was shortened to simply "Cookbook Secrets" and the discriptive line "A Recipe Portfolio" was added.

There were five cookbooks of Secret Recipes in the series. Each was self published by my parents, Paul and Gloria Pitzer. The first, "Book One", or the the Blue Cookbook was first published in 1976 and one new cookbook was introduced each year thereafter until 1980. And each cookbook contained some 400 recipes, developed by my Mom who had become known as "The Recipe Dective". Cookbook Five was her departure from famous restaurants to developing recipes for making supermarket products right in your own kitchen.

Cookbook Two was a spin-off of Cookbook One, "the Original Junk Food Cookbook" and included many wonderful bakery products, snacks, and many main dishes.
